“Players need to leave not because Russia is bad, but because moving to a European club is a step forward” – Tiknizyan
Defender of Lokomotiv and the Armenian national team Nair Tiknizyan explained why Russian football players should go to play in European clubs.
Earlier, the media reported that Tiknizyan was on the short list of the Spanish Real Sociedad, and the Italian Bologna and Lazio were also interested in the 24-year-old player.
— Do you agree that, if possible, Russian football players should go to Europe?
“We need to leave not because it’s somehow bad here or something like that, but because moving to a European club is really a step forward for any footballer. Let’s be honest, the level of football in the top leagues in Europe is higher than in the RPL, plus there are European cups. And when I talk about the need to leave, I mean only the most positive by this,” RB Sport quotes Tiknizyan as saying.
Tiknizyan played 22 matches for Lokomotiv in all competitions this season, scored seven goals and provided five assists.
