Former Zenit forward Igor Zazulin said that he does not like the play of Spartak defender Georgy Dzhikia, since his actions caused the Moscow team to concede many goals.

Dzhikia has been defending the colors of Spartak since 2017. This season, the footballer played in nine matches for Spartak in all tournaments, in which he was not effective.

— I don’t like Jikia. Because of him, Spartak scores a lot of goals. There was a moment, for example, with Ural, when they scored a goal, and he was standing on the goal line. He must approach at speed to prevent the shot, but he stands still. There, the player from the other flank almost managed to run in and cover. I don’t like him.

Or take the match with Krasnodar. Jikia has mistakes. Cordoba dealt with confrontations with him effortlessly, accepted everything, hooked everything, turned it around. It is clear that Cordoba is one of the best strikers in the championship, but still. It was hard for Dzhikia to play with him; he tried to knock him down with his hands.

Jikia is too bloated. We just didn’t have any left-footed centre-backs, that’s a problem. If Dzhikia had not been left-footed, then the question is whether he would have gotten into Spartak based on his qualities or not,” Legalbet quotes Zazulin as saying.
