Rubin midfielder Oleg Ivanov expressed regret that former Russian national team player Alan Dzagoev ended his career at the age of 33.

On November 21, Dzagoev announced his retirement, most of which he spent in CSKA Moscow. The footballer played for the army team from 2008 to 2022. His last club was the Greek Lamia.

— End of Dzagoev’s career? It’s always a scar on my heart when someone close to my age ends their career. Some people have better health, some people have worse health. I think Alan is already really tired. At Rubin he took great care of his health. To be honest, I haven’t met such professional guys for a long time who had this attitude towards health: Alan went out to train two hours earlier than everyone else. And after training he stayed the longest. It’s a pity that this happened. Russian football has lost a master,” Championship quotes Ivanov.

During his playing career, Dzagoev also played for Rubin Kazan. As part of CSKA, the midfielder became a three-time Russian champion and won the country’s Cup four times. The footballer played 59 matches for the Russian national team and scored nine goals.

MIR RPL matches are shown live on the Match TV and MATCH PREMIER TV channels, as well as on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
