“Igor broke all records compared to other goalkeepers” – Akinfeev’s first coach
The first coach of CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev, Pavel Koval, said that the goalkeeper managed to break all records throughout his career.
Akinfeev has been playing for CSKA since 2003. Together with the “red-blues” he won the Russian championship six times, won the country’s Cup and Super Cup seven times, and also won the UEFA Cup in 2005.
— I always said that there was faith in Yashin, then in Dasaev, and now in Akinfeev. I agree that Akinfeev broke all records. Yashin received the Golden Ball, but all three are great players, just at different times. Each of them achieved better results at different times. Igor is great, he broke all records compared to other goalkeepers,” Koval told Metaratings.ru.
This season, WORLD RPL, the 37-year-old goalkeeper played 14 matches, keeping a clean sheet in four of them.
