Doorman Anton Shunin reacted to the fact that he managed to surpass the legendary goalkeeper in the number of matches for Dynamo Lev Yashin. 18th round match RPL against Fakel (1:1) was Shunin’s 359th match with the Moscow club.
Firstly, it was very difficult for me to catch up with Lev Ivanovich Yashin and, of course, this is an excellent result. I’m happy to have managed to catch up and surpass the greatest goalkeeper in history.
Was there any excitement? No, I tried not to think about it. In my head I only think about the match, the difficult weather conditions and a difficult opponent. This is not easy for all teams, especially leaders. We came here with the idea that we had to go out and show our best. You can’t just go out and play football, the pitch doesn’t allow it and the opponent is not easy. We led, but we couldn’t hold on to the victory. But at the same time, if I’m not mistaken, we will go on winter vacation in the top three. There’s a lot to work on, but for now we just need to enjoy the company of families and friends.
