“It makes no sense for Dzhikia to bang on a closed door if they don’t count on him” – Dyakov
Former Lokomotiv footballer Vitaly Dyakov called on defender Georgy Dzhikiya to leave Spartak Moscow.
Earlier, RB Sport reported that the Krasnodar club is ready to consider Jikia’s candidacy if Junior Alonso leaves the team in the winter. Representatives of Krasnodar have not yet begun negotiations with Dzhikiya; the club expects that Alonso will remain until the end of the season.
— I don’t know how realistic Dzhikia’s move to Krasnodar is, but he doesn’t play for Spartak. He himself wants to play, he is a Spartak player, the leader of the team. Abascal put him in reserve, showing that he was not counting on him. There is no sign of change. The signing of Babich probably also speaks to this. Duarte is playing, and a healthy Jikia is sitting on the bench, so a transfer is possible. Georgy wants to play, and not sit as a substitute and waste time. This is fine. It seems to me that he would like to continue playing at Spartak – but if they don’t count on you, there is no point in banging on a closed door.
Krasnodar now already has a good pair of defenders; today they don’t need a defender if no one leaves. In my opinion, if anyone needs defenders, it is Lokomotiv. In addition, Dzhikia is a graduate of Lokomotiv,” Championship quotes Dyakov.
Dzhikia has been playing for the Moscow club since 2017. The 30-year-old football player’s contract with Spartak runs until the end of the season.
