“Spartak” should not part with Dzhikia. He is a legend and captain of the club” – Gladilin

Former Spartak footballer Valery Gladilin believes that the Moscow club should not part with defender Georgy Dzhikiya.

Earlier, RB Sport reported that the Krasnodar club is ready to consider Jikia’s candidacy if Junior Alonso leaves the team in the winter. Representatives of Krasnodar have not yet begun negotiations with Dzhikiya; the club expects that Alonso will remain until the end of the season.

– These are just rumors for now. Dzhikia has a current contract with Spartak. The fact that he is not in the starting lineup now is a temporary situation. The coach just sees it that way. Georgy, of course, will be useful to the team. He is an experienced football player, team captain, Spartak legend. So, I think it’s not worth parting with him. Dzhikia will also bring benefits to the team – he is a strong defender who is on our country’s national football team. But whether he will be okay depends on himself,” Gladilin is quoted by “Championship.”

Dzhikia has been playing for the Moscow club since 2017. The 30-year-old football player’s contract with Spartak runs until the end of the season.
