Real Madrid beat Villarreal 4-1 at the end of Sunday’s 17th La Liga game. Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, Brahim and Luka Modrić were the authors of the victory, while Jose Luis Morales with a discount for guests.

Real Madrid are serious. And if there was anyone who could still challenge Carlo Ancelotti’s side, the performance against Villarreal was the ultimate testament to what the team can deliver. In a complete match for the meringues they shut out Submarino 4-1, although David Alaba’s injury was the biggest concern of the night.

It took Bellingham 25 minutes to make the difference between the two and before any response from Villarreal, Rodrigo extended the gap in the 37th minute. 3-1 in the 64th minute and Modric scored in the 68th minute.

The Merengues are now top of La Liga with 42 points, just one more than Girona, who host Alaves on Monday at the end of matchday 17.
