“Dzhikiya can play in any RPL club, but he hardly wants to leave Spartak” – Demenko

Former Spartak footballer Maxim Demenko believes that the red-and-white defender Georgy Dzhikia can play in any MIR club of the Russian Premier League (RPL), but the player himself hardly wants to leave the Moscow team.

Earlier, RB Sport reported that Krasnodar is ready to consider Jikia’s candidacy if Junior Alonso leaves the team in the winter. Club representatives have not yet begun negotiations with Jikia, hoping that Alonso will remain until the end of the season.

— I think that Jikia can play in any RPL club. He is a very experienced and high-quality football player. If Alonso leaves, then Georgiy can definitely benefit Krasnodar. Junior has become one of the team leaders; of course, it would be better for the “bulls” not to lose him.

Dzhikia hardly wants to leave Spartak, because he has been playing for this club for a long time and has become the captain of the team. When you spend so much time in one club, you become very attached to it. If we talk about Lokomotiv, the advantage of the railway workers in the fight for Jikia over Krasnodar is that in this case Georgy will not need to move from Moscow,” RB Sport quotes Demenko as saying.

Dzhikia has been playing for Spartak since 2017. The 30-year-old football player’s contract with the “red and whites” runs until the end of the season.
