The vice-president of Inter Milan, Javier Zanetti, was not immediately able to get to the draw for the 1/8 finals of the Champions League due to the fact that he did not have accreditation with him.
A video was published on social networks in which a security officer at an event held at UEFA headquarters in Nyon initially did not want to let Zanetti into the hall because he could not identify him. The ex-Argentine national team player told the security guard that he was the vice-president of Inter. After a small squabble that lasted about a minute, Zanetti gained access to the draw.
The Argentine holds Inter’s record for the number of matches played (858), of which he played 159 in the Champions League.
The Milan club faced Atlético Madrid as opponents in the first round of the Champions League playoffs. The matches will take place on February 20 (in Italy) and March 13 (in Spain).
