Former Manchester United footballer Andrei Kanchelskis said that he would like to work for an English club, but is currently negotiating with a team from Kyrgyzstan.

At the end of November, information appeared on the website of the Kazakh Tobol that Kanchelskis had left the position of general director of the club, which he had held since July. After this, the 54-year-old specialist told Match TV that “swindlers” were working at Tobol, and he had not received any notifications and was preparing letters to FIFA and UEFA.

— There is a lot of talk about my work in England, but there were no specifics or the fact that I was negotiating with Premier League clubs. I wanted and still want to work in the best league in the world! Who doesn’t want to work in the Premier League?! If there are offers from England, we will definitely consider them. There are always goals and dreams, but I strive for this. Perhaps, everything will come true!

It is unlikely that Manchester United will call me to the position of head coach now, but maybe I would take the position of a functionary or sporting director. Working in Manchester is my greatest happiness! I would have held a position at the club and helped make that wonderful Ferguson team of the 90s. I would be very interested in this, but for now I am focused on negotiations with another United team – from Kyrgyzstan. It is clear that if Manchester comes up with an offer, then any other team will not mind going there to work. But now all thoughts are with Muras United, and at the moment I am already in Kyrgyzstan and we are negotiating,” Sport24 quotes Kanchelskis.

Kanchelskis is a two-time English champion with Manchester United.
