Karpin is not against Prokhin’s transfer from Rostov to Orenburg, the player’s agent said

Agent Vasily Golyana, representing the interests of 22-year-old Rostov defender Danila Prokhin, commented on the information about his client’s possible transfer to Orenburg on loan.

This season, Prokhin played 15 matches (10 in the RPL) and was not effective. His contract with Rostov runs until the summer of 2026.

— Danila’s task is to get playing time on the field. We discussed with Rostov that it would not be the worst decision to find a rental option now. Accordingly, negotiations with Orenburg are indeed underway.

— Was there a conversation with Rostov head coach Valery Karpin about Danila’s departure?

— We are always in dialogue with Karpin. We discuss all decisions regarding Rostov players with both the club management and the head coach. Of course there was a conversation.

— Didn’t Karpin try to dissuade you from leaving?

— Everyone here has common sense. Valery Georgievich also sees that the football player has not had regular playing practice for a long time. And he gets fewer and fewer minutes on the field. Why harm someone? For what? Of course, Valery Georgievich was also not against the possibility of such a transition. According to Prokhin, there is a demand among other clubs – he is a very high-quality player.

— “Orenburg” wants to lease Prokhin with the right to buy. Are you satisfied with this option?

— These are negotiations between clubs. The football player and I will be satisfied with the option of having a team in which there will be a new challenge, new motivation and where Danila can reboot a little. As for the nuances of the transfer contract—whether it will be a lease or a lease with an option—probably, today this is not so important.

— Danila’s contract with Rostov is valid until the summer of 2026. Do you see his future at this club?

— I initially saw his future in this club. And now I see it. We don’t have many central defenders with the same set of qualities as Danila. I just think that now he needs a change of scenery, as I said – a new challenge. I believe that he will spend the spring as fruitfully as possible, help Orenburg, and then we’ll see,” the RB Sport agent quotes.
