“The RFU made the right decision; there was no point in moving to Asia” – Radimov
Former Russian national team midfielder Vladislav Radimov called the possible transition of the Russian Football Union (RFU) to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) senseless.
At a meeting on Wednesday, the RFU Executive Committee almost unanimously decided to remain in the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
– You know, I know about as much as journalists… We did not receive any guarantees from FIFA, and therefore there was no point in moving to the Asian Confederation. That here a number of teams refuse to play with us, that there are similar examples. This is probably the right decision at the moment,” RT quotes Radimov.
At the end of February 2022, FIFA and UEFA suspended Russian national teams and clubs from participating in international tournaments due to the situation in Ukraine.
