Balakhnin believes that Akinfeev is definitely stronger than Safonov
Former Rostov head coach Sergei Balakhnin believes that CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev is stronger than Krasnodar goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
Akinfeev played 17 matches this season, six of which he kept a clean sheet. Safonov has eight clean sheets out of 18 meetings.
— Safonov had a good first part of the season, not without mistakes, but this is natural for such goalkeepers. It’s nice that the Russian goalkeeper is on the list of top goalkeepers.

– Definitely stronger. Igor is a confident goalkeeper. You look at it and understand that this is a bastion. Akinfeev helps the defenders and the whole team,” RB Sport quotes Balakhnin as saying.
