CSKA goalkeeper Ilya Pomazun, who plays on loan for Ural, called Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin the leader of the Russian national football team.
– Of course, he became a leader. The person comes from a top European championship. Sasha is faster, thinks faster. He himself said in a recent interview that the intensity is higher in France. Everyone on the team talked to him, watched how he acted on the field, and tried to be on the same level with him. This is a big plus for the national team and the entire championship, when the guys train together with players who play in top championships – Miranchuk, Golovin. Now Zakharyan will come again. But as a person, Sasha has not changed – still the same Golovin that he was in 2018 at CSKA. Kind, open, always ready to help,” Championship quotes Pomazun.
Golovin played 16 matches for Monaco in the 2023/24 season, scoring five goals and providing three assists. The 27-year-old Russian’s contract with the French club runs until the end of June 2026. The Transfermarkt portal estimates the player’s value at 30 million euros.
