“It’s better to take the dummy from the field.” Lichka told who he doesn’t want to invite to Dynamo

Dynamo head coach Marcel Licka said that the team’s potential newcomer must be motivated to progress and regularly appear in the first team.

— Why is there still not a single newcomer on the team? Are you looking for anyone so you don’t break anything?

– No. The best option was when the team stayed and no one left. This is a big plus. There is a demand for many of our players, but they remain – and that’s very good.

The second point is the acquisition of a football player. This must be a very high-quality player who gives good competition and level to the team. But to sign a player who will be happy that he ended up at Dynamo and will sit with me on the bench and receive a salary – no. I would rather invite young people to the team, like Victor (Okishore) and Egor (Nazarenko), I will work with them, because I am sure that they want to show themselves at Dynamo. I need a “hungry” player, not one who will be satisfied with himself and will not play. It’s better to take the dummy off the field.

— That is, you are ready to bet on young people rather than on a player who, in six months, will lower his demands on himself and will not be useful?

— If they offered me a player, for example, like Zenit acquired Arthur for 18 million euros, I would take him (laughs). But can we buy a football player for 18 million? It’s hard. You need to know how to invest money correctly.

— Tell us how veterans and young players perceive the workload?

— Honestly, when we arrived in Qatar, the veterans were better prepared than the youth. Why is that? Because an adult footballer takes care of himself, knows that he is playing for his contract and money, but a young footballer already thinks: I’m in the Dynamo first team, I’m already a world champion and I can play.
