Barcelona sporting director Deku has submitted an offer to extend the contract of the Blaugrana midfielder and the Dutch national team Frankie DeJong. The meeting took place three months ago. Deco offered De Jong a three-year contract extension. The player took some time to think.
De Jong moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2019 from Ajax. His current contract expires in July 2026. This season, the 26-year-old central midfielder has played 22 games in all competitions, scoring one goal and receiving 8 yellow cards. The Transfermarkt portal values the Dutchman at 80 million euros.
It was previously reported that De Jong is among the most expensive players in La Liga.
