“If Dzyuba gets into decent shape in the winter, he will be able to help Lokomotiv enter the top three in the RPL” – Nepomniachtchi
Lokomotiv forward Artem Dzyuba can pave the way for the team to medals in the current RPL season if he is in good shape in the second part of the season, says former Cameroon national team coach Valery Nepomnyashchy.
The 35-year-old striker scored four goals in 16 matches in the Russian championship this season.
“I think that Dziuba will spend the spring part better than the first part of the season. Not to say that he performed poorly, but he probably didn’t score somewhere. Still, they expect more than four goals from Artem.
But if Dzyuba gets into decent shape in the winter, he could become Lokomotiv’s key to RPL medals. The railway workers still have a chance of winning the top three,” Nepomnyashchiy told RB Sport.
After 18 rounds, Lokomotiv is in fourth place in the MIR RPL standings. The championship will resume in early March.
