Everton fan Joel Barwise banned from attending matches in the UK for 3 years. During this period, he will not be able to come within a mile of the stadiums where the Toffees play.

It was reported that the offender during the Everton-Liverpool match at Anfield insulted the Reds striker Mohamed Salah based on racism. Furthermore, he ridiculed the Heysel tragedy of 1985. Then 39 people died.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said the fan’s behavior was noticed by one of the stewards and the fan was identified on CCTV. Barwise initially claimed he had been identified by mistake, but later admitted his guilt. When asked about the reasons for this behavior, Joel responded: “I’m an idiot.”
