Former CSKA and Russian national team defender Yuri Zhirkov responded to the situation with Spartak defender Georgy Dzhikia.
Jikia’s contract with Spartak runs until the end of May. This season, the 30-year-old defender has lost his place in the Red-White starting lineup.
— How do you look at the situation with Dzhikia at Spartak? There’s a lot of noise about the contract extension.
— I don’t know, it’s hard to get involved in internal club affairs. But when they do this to a player who has been with Spartak for a long time, it’s bad. Especially with a Russian player who was also the captain of the national team,” RB Sport quotes Zhirkov as saying.
