Valery Staferov, the first coach of Aris striker Alexander Kokorin, believes that it would be difficult for a football player to gain a foothold in the main team of a club in one of the leading European leagues.
This season, 32-year-old Kokorin played 25 matches for Aris, in which he scored eight goals and made two assists. The rights to the player belong to the Italian Fiorentina.
“He hasn’t played at such a high level for a long time.” And in connection with this situation, which is known to everyone, he then began to “tumble” around clubs both abroad and in Russia. As a result, he went to Cyprus and plays there.
Football is different in Europe, I don’t even know if he can leave now. I probably wouldn’t risk it. Because in Cyprus he plays and enjoys it. And there… Moreover, he’s already old,” Stafferov told Metaratings.ru.
Previously, Kokorin was recognized as the best football player of Cyprus in 2023 according to journalists.
