Spartak midfielder Anton Zinkovsky said that head coach Guillermo Abascal’s decision to fly from St. Petersburg to Moscow before the 19th round match of the MIR RPL with Zenit did not have a negative impact on the team.

Saturday’s match between Zenit and Spartak ended with a score of 0:0. Before the game, the Spartak press service reported that Abaskal would watch the match with the “blue-white-blue” at the club base, since he would not be able to lead the “red-white” at the stadium in St. Petersburg due to the disqualification received in December last year.

— Abaskal explained to the team the decision to leave for Moscow. Guillermo was with us in the morning and afternoon on the day of the match, but said that he would watch the game at the base. He wouldn’t have been with us at the match anyway due to disqualification.

Did Abascal cheat the team? No. How would he help us? He wouldn’t be on the field. We would only see each other on the bus after the match – what difference would it make? I do not see her. For me, there is nothing like that in Abascal’s decision,” Sport24 quotes Zinkovsky.

Zenit scored 37 points and missed the chance to catch up with the leader in the standings, Krasnodar (39), which on Saturday lost points in the match with Rubin Kazan (1:1). Spartak (31) moved up to fourth place.
