“Spartak” needs to learn to cope without Promes, Bushmanov said
Former Spartak Moscow footballer Evgeny Bushmanov believes that the “red-whites” need to learn how to build a game without the Dutch striker Quincy Promes.
Promes was arrested in Dubai on Wednesday at the request of the Dutch prosecutor’s office. In February, an Amsterdam court found the player guilty of drug smuggling charges and sentenced him to six years in prison; Promes’ defense filed an appeal against this decision. On Thursday, the press secretary of the Amsterdam prosecutor’s office, Franklin Wattimena, told Match TV that it is not yet clear whether the football player will be extradited to his homeland.
— Promes is the leader of Spartak, whatever one may say. It will be difficult for the team without him: he makes passes and scores goals. But now Spartak needs to learn to cope without him. “There are no irreplaceable people in football,” RB Sport quotes Bushmanov.
“Spartak” with 31 points ranks sixth in the Russian Premier League (RPL) standings.
