Defender of Krasnodar and the Russian national football team Sergei Volkov spoke about his desire to try his hand at one of the European championships.
Volkov was called up to the training camp of the Russian national team, which started on March 14 in Novogorsk.
— This is the third time you’ve been selected to the national team. Have you previously asked Miranchuk and Golovin how things are going in Europe? Maybe they asked you to recommend you?
“I didn’t talk to the guys so they could recommend me somewhere, and I didn’t ask how it was.” In principle, there are connections and an understanding of how work works there. I would like to try myself there.
— Which direction is generally more interesting – like Golovin in France, like Miranchuk in Italy or like Zakharyan in Spain?
“I think these are top-3 championships,” RB Sport quotes Volkov.
On March 21, the Russian team will play a friendly match with Serbia, the game with the Paraguay team will take place on March 25. Both matches will take place at the VTB Arena in Moscow.
The Match TV channel will broadcast live friendly matches of the Russian national football team with the teams of Serbia and Paraguay.
