Tikhonov about Promes: “In football terms, this is a loss for Spartak, but the law is the law”

Former Spartak Moscow football player Andrei Tikhonov said that Red-White forward Quincy Promes himself is to blame for the current situation, noting that for the team the absence of the Dutchman is a huge loss.

Promes was arrested in Dubai on March 13 at the request of the Dutch prosecutor’s office. In February, an Amsterdam court found the Spartak football player guilty of drug smuggling and sentenced him to six years in prison; Promes’ defense filed an appeal against this decision. Last summer, a 32-year-old Dutch man received 18 months in prison for attacking his cousin.

“It’s a huge loss, but it’s Quincy’s own fault.” Run away from the scene of the accident… I don’t think that the management of Spartak did not know about the possible consequences. Maybe if it weren’t for this accident, he would be on the field now. In football terms, this is a big loss, but the law is the law,” the Championship quotes Tikhonov.

Spartak is sixth in the RPL standings with 31 points.
