The RFU negotiated with Uruguay about a friendly match with the Russian national team
General Secretary of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Maxim Mitrofanov spoke about negotiations regarding a friendly match between the Russian and Uruguay national teams.
The Russian national team will play against the Serbian team on Thursday, and the meeting with the Paraguay national team will take place on March 25. Both games will take place at the Dynamo Moscow stadium.
— We were negotiating with Uruguay about a friendly match with the Russian national team here. Uruguay was ready to play with us, but they wanted to play two matches during this break and could not find a second opponent who would be close to us. There was an option with Turkey, which we recommended to them, so that they could come to us from there. But, unfortunately, it didn’t work out. Will we play after some time? I don’t know,” Championship quotes Mitrofanov.
