Mostovoy spoke out against extending the contract with Karpin: “It is impossible to combine posts”
Former Russian national team midfielder Alexander Mostovoi opposed the extension of the contract with the head coach of the national team Valery Karpin.
The 55-year-old specialist’s contract with the RFU runs until July 31, 2024. He is also the head coach of Rostov.
– I don’t feel anything about this at all. I firmly stand in my position, unlike many, I do not change my opinion: you cannot combine posts, period. I’m against it. Again, there is nothing like this anywhere in the world. Yes, the situation here is difficult, but a coach must coach either a club or a national team,” RB Sport quotes Mostovoy.
Karpin has been leading the Russian national team since July 2021.
