Venice confirmed that Cheryshev will become a free agent at the end of the season
Venice general secretary Davide Brandolin said that Russian midfielder Denis Cheryshev will become a free agent in the summer transfer window.
Cheryshev has been playing for Venice since 2022. This season, the 33-year-old midfielder played nine matches for the Italian club in all tournaments, without scoring any goals. The Russian’s contract with Venice runs until the summer of 2024, with the possibility of extension for one year.
Earlier, Cheryshev’s agency told Match TV that he would most likely continue his career at another club.
— Will the option to extend Denis Chernyshev’s contract be activated?
— The contract contains a clause providing for automatic renewal upon the occurrence of a (certain) condition. This condition was not met, so Cheryshev will become a free agent on July 1, Brandolin told Sport24.
