Ex-Dynamo goalkeeper Uvarov: “Leshchuk has everything ahead. Shunin should play in the next match”

Former Dynamo goalkeeper Alexander Uvarov commented on the performance of Blue and White goalkeeper Igor Leshchuk in the match of the 23rd round of the WORLD RPL against Spartak.

The meeting, which took place on the Dynamo field, ended with the victory of Spartak with a score of 2:1. In the second half, Leshchuk twice failed to secure the ball in his hands after shots from the “red and white” players; in both cases, visiting forward Alexander Sobolev was the first to finish.

It was an easy game for the goalkeeper, but in two halves he almost never caught the ball. “Spartak” almost didn’t approach the goal. Excitement? It’s possible. After all, this is not an ordinary match, but a derby. Dynamo needs points.

— The defenders shouldn’t have protected Leshchuk when the goals were scored? Sobolev was the first to finish each time.

– In fact, of course, they should have. I think that they simply did not think that after such attacks it would turn out this way.

– Don’t break. Thank God he is still 28 years old. He has everything ahead of him.

— The goalkeeper must get up from his knees. There were more difficult situations, no big deal. The main thing is how the team will treat you. If the guys support, then everything is fine.

— Do you think Dynamo head coach Marcel Licka should put Leschuk on the bench in the next match or could this finish him off?

– Definitely, Shunin should play. I’m reading an interview today – everything is about Leshchuk. It is very difficult for him psychologically. It’s okay to watch the game from the bench. All sorts of situations happened. I conceded seven goals and didn’t play in the next match. In the arena we lost to Dynamo Minsk with a score of 0:7.
