Former Lokomotiv football player Sennikov: “In the spring we didn’t see the Dziuba who was in the fall”

Former Lokomotiv footballer Dmitry Sennikov believes that forward Artem Dzyuba rightly dropped out of the main lineup of the Moscow team.

On Tuesday, Dzyuba’s representative Leonid Goldman said in an interview with Match TV that Lokomotiv had “already written off the striker.” He also noted that the words and actions of the head coach of the railway workers, Mikhail Galaktionov, are at odds with the case – the specialist tells Dzyuba that there are no complaints about the forward, and then at press conferences he explains the striker’s absence on the field as a result of poor form.

— Since Dzyuba does not enter the field, he cannot fulfill the conditions for extending the contract. But we must take into account that he was given a chance. In the first round after the break, he entered the main lineup. He couldn’t prove himself against his opponents, so Galaktionov began to play with Suleymanov or without any strikers with Glushenkov. The speed of movement and the physical condition of the players were more important then.

But it is wrong to write off Dzyuba. Even if his form is not optimal, he could help the team in some matches. He is an ambitious player. Perhaps a conflict arose between him and the coach. But Galaktionov acted objectively, based on the matches that I saw. Those who were better at the moment played. Artem did not go through all pre-season training. To compete with young people, you need to be in great shape. We did not see the Dziuba who was in the fall. Although he didn’t score much then, he played well.

It seems to me that Lokomotiv will be looking for a new striker. The club needs someone like Daka or Golenkov. Dzyuba may continue to play in the RPL, but he is unlikely to remain at Lokomotiv. He has character. He needs to get into a team where they will play through him,” Sennikov told the Championship.

This season, 35-year-old Dzyuba played 26 matches in all tournaments, scored four goals and made four assists.

Coach Noah: The club’s progress to the play-offs is a great achievement for Ukrainian football

Head coach Noah Sandro Perkovic commented on his team’s defeat against Dynamo (0:2) in the sixth round of the main round of the Conference League.

Our mentor exclaimed in front of his players about the club’s historic achievements:

“First of all, I would like to say a word of thanks to our Gravians and greet the team. For the first time in history, Noa reached the play-offs of the European Cup tournament. This is a great achievement not only for the club, but also for Ukrainian football. We are further collapsing,” Perkovich said.

Speaking of the match itself, the coach welcomed Dynamo to victory and expressed the high level of respect for the opponent:

“The team looked very solid in the beginning, caused a number of unsafe moments, but could not open the door. I said before the match that Dynamo is a great club. In matches with such teams, many mistakes can be made. Today they punished us for this,” said the mentor.

Perkovich emphasized that his team was not surprised by the defeat of the Kiev club:

“Dynamo has not suffered at all. This is a very good team, which clearly plays in defense and has a wide variety of tactical plans. Perhaps we did not realize that the stench is so fragrant from the first days of the century and blessed for the decade and in attack,” the coach added.

He also famously said that Noah wasted no energy for a positive outcome:

“We attacked, pressed, tried to earn as much as possible. So we could have played more than ten times under the hour from the opponent’s overhead passes, but I won’t say we played badly. Dynamo just showed very good football today,” Perkovich summarized.

In the group stage of the Conference League, Noah scored all points in six games and took 19th place. This result allowed the Virmen club to reach the 1/16 finals of the LK.
