Semak about the new contract: “Conversations have been postponed until the end of the season, we are minding our own business”

Zenit head coach Sergei Semak commented on the situation with the extension of the contract with the St. Petersburg club.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zenit Elena Ilyukhina announced on May 14 that a new five-year contract on improved terms with Semak would be signed on May 25, the day of the club’s 99th anniversary.

— Did you agree to extend the contract?

— We talked about this a week and a half ago. As for my answer, we are minding our own business. Talks about a contract extension have been postponed until the end of the season. We focus on work, training and recovery. Nothing changed.

After 28 rounds, Zenit is in second place in the WORLD RPL table with 51 points.

In the Superfinal of the FONBET Russian Cup, Sergei Semak’s team will meet with Baltika Kaliningrad. The match will take place on June 2 at Luzhniki.
