Former Zenit goalkeeper Vyacheslav Malafeev assessed the St. Petersburg club’s chances of winning the championship this season RPL.
This season Zenit’s results are not as evident as in previous ones. But I think it’s premature to cancel the club. In football there are periods of recession and recovery. Zenit is a club with great potential, experience and a strong squad.
Reaching the Russian Cup final, and considering that Zenit has not played a Cup final since 2020, is a good result that shows that the team is fighting and trying to win every match, every tournament. Fight for the championship in RPL it’s not over yet, so Zenit has every chance to correct the situation and end the season on a positive note. I think next season Zenit will draw conclusions from this year’s mistakes and come back even stronger.
