Italian defender Leonardo Bonucci has officially announced his retirement from football at the age of 37.
On the social network, the football player published a video with the best moments of his career.
– Number 19 forever. As a child, I dreamed that someday I would tell this story. Father, friend, husband and football player. Today I am beyond history. “It’s me,” Bonucci wrote, stylizing the text as a poem.
Bonucci’s last club was the Turkish Fenerbahce, with whom he signed a contract in January. Before this, the Italian played for Union Berlin. The defender spent most of his career at Juventus, where he became the Italian champion eight times. He also has four victories in the National Cup, five in the Super Cup.
As part of the Italian national team, Bonucci won the 2020 European Championship.
