Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo has failed to score a single goal in the group stage of a major tournament for the first time in his career, according to statistics portal Opta.
In three matches in the group stage of the 2024 European Championship, Ronaldo never scored a goal. The 39-year-old Portuguese has scored in each of his previous 10 group stages at the World and European Championships, dating back to UEFA EURO 2004.
The Portuguese team won Group F and advanced to the 1/8 finals, where they will play against the Slovenes.
The European Championship is taking place in 10 cities in Germany from June 14 to July 14.
