Former Russian national team defender Vadim Yevseyev linked the Italian national team’s poor performance at EURO 2024 to the pressure that was put on the team and head coach Luciano Spalletti.
The Italians lost to Switzerland 0-2 in the 1/8 finals of EURO 2024. The Italian team won the 2020 European Championship.
— Spalletti was looking for new combinations, but you know that in Italy, like nowhere else, they put pressure on the coach. There, any person, from a child to a grandmother, understands football, so literally everyone has their own opinion. This led to pressure, which influenced Spalletti, — Yevseyev told Metaratings.ru.
The winner of the European Championship was the Spanish team, which beat the English team 2-1 in the final. The tournament was held from June 14 to July 14 in Germany.
