Shikunov: “In the game with Orenburg we didn’t see what Stankovic wants from the team”

Former sports director of Moscow Spartak Alexander Shikunov criticized the Red-Whites’ performance in the match with Orenburg.
The first round match of the MIR RPL, which took place on Sunday in Orenburg, ended with a score of 2:0 in favor of the home team.
— Maybe there was not enough time to adapt to the new coach or they just didn’t figure it out. Orenburg is a fast team. It was clear that they would catch the opponent on fast attacks. We didn’t see what Stankovic wanted from the team. In the first minutes, one-on-ones began. The team was not ready for the game with Orenburg. Maybe something will change. Stankovic said that this will not happen again. Let’s see. He hasn’t been with the team for much time, plus there are no reinforcements, — Shikunov was quoted as saying by “Championship”.
Spartak will play away against Khimki from the Moscow region in the next round on July 28.
