Karavaev on the victory over CSKA: “I think the score was fair. We didn’t allow anything super dangerous to be created near our goal.”
Zenit defender Vyacheslav Karavaev believes that the team won a deserved victory over CSKA in the 8th round of the MIR RPL.
The meeting took place in Moscow at the VEB Arena and ended with a score of 1:0 in favor of the guests.
— This is the hardest-fought victory. We tried to play our game, but CSKA was also well prepared. I think the score was in line with the game. We didn’t let them create anything super dangerous near their goal. It’s good that we won, that’s the most important thing. I hope that I’ll still score goals. Sergei Semak’s team has 20 points and is leading the RPL table, while CSKA has 13 points and is in fifth place.
In the next round, Zenit will play Fakel at home on September 21, and the Moscow club will travel to Rubin on the same day.
