The governor of the Samara region, Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, ruled out the departure of Krylia Sovetov head coach Igor Osinkin from the team before the end of the season.

Earlier it was reported that Osinkin would leave the club, and Sergei Ignashevich could be appointed in his place. Then Fedorishchev said that this week he would hold a meeting with the players, coaching staff and management of Krylia Sovetov after a call from team captain Alexander Soldatenkov, who “asked to intervene in the situation.”

During the meeting, the club’s development priorities were discussed.

The first is sports results. The place that Krylia currently occupy does not meet our expectations and the team’s potential. The goal is at least 8th place.

The second is transfer work. The task is to conduct it not only cost-effectively, but also to ensure that the leading players are retained and not lose leaders.

It is extremely important that our talented guys continue their development, do not leave for other clubs and in the future get a chance to prove themselves in the main team of the Wings.

We also discussed what additional help the Wings need and what problems they have. We will continue to support Krylia Sovetov so that the team can show decent results and develop, delighting the fans,” Fedorishchev wrote in his Telegram channel.

Osinkin has headed Krylia Sovetov since July 2020. The 59-year-old coach’s contract runs until 2025.

After 11 rounds in the WORLD Russian Premier League (RPL), the Samara team with 11 points are in 10th position in the standings.
