“Foreigners are more foppish, Russians are more straightforward.” Orenburg goalkeeper Moskvichev – about the style of taking penalties
Orenburg goalkeeper Bogdan Moskvichev explained how the penalty kick style of Russian football players differs from foreign ones.
— Do legionnaires take penalties the same way as the Russians?
— Foreigners are more foppish, Russians are straightforward in their faith. I remember taking a penalty for the Russian national team when we played against Dynamo Minsk. Orinho, who now plays for Khimki, beat me. He approached the point, paused and rolled slightly to the right – that’s what I thought and stayed on the tape, then fell into the right corner and saved the penalty. That is, in this case, I had an understanding that he would do this, knowing that foreign players love to hit like that,” RB Sport quotes Moskvichev as saying.
Moskvichev, whose rights belong to Zenit, played 12 matches in all tournaments this season and conceded 23 goals.
