Former Spartak footballer Promes made his debut for the United club from Dubai
Former Spartak Moscow midfielder Quincy Promes made his debut for the United club from Dubai.
The Dutch footballer made his first appearance for an Arab club, coming on from the first minutes in the match with Hatta in the fourth round of the UAE Second League. Promes joined United as a free agent in September.
The football player is 32 years old. He played for Spartak from 2014 to 2018, and then returned to the club in 2021. As part of the “red-whites,” Quincy became the champion of Russia, winner of the country’s Cup and Super Cup. At the beginning of July, Spartak announced that the contract with the player had expired.
In February, an Amsterdam court found Promes guilty of drug smuggling and sentenced him to six years in prison. Last summer, the footballer was sentenced to 18 months in prison for attacking his cousin. In March, he was detained in Dubai at the request of the Dutch prosecutor’s office, and in May it was reported that the player was released from prison under certain conditions.
