Chepchugov about Cordoba’s goal against Krylia Sovetov: “Ibrahimovic showed us similar tricks in his best years”
Former CSKA goalkeeper Sergei Chepchugov highly appreciated the goal of Krasnodar forward John Cordoba against Krylya Sovetov in the match of the 13th round of the Russian championship.
The meeting, held in Samara on Monday, ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the guests. Cordoba scored from a long distance, after his kick the ball fell along a high trajectory behind Samara goalkeeper Ivan Lomaev.
“In his best years, Zlatan Ibrahimovic showed us similar tricks – he did it completely with God’s help. Cordoba scored from a similar point. John is a great find for Krasnodar, he plays well for this club. The goalkeeper must create in the goal, this is a special position in football, but sometimes there are times when it is not in our power to hit the ball,” RB Sport quotes Chepchugov as saying.
“Krasnodar” leads the MIR RPL standings with 33 points. Krylya Sovetov (12 points) are in 10th place.
