Former vice-president of Lokomotiv and ex-president of the Moscow football club Yuri Belous believes that the Dutchman Quincy Promes, if he returns to the capital’s Spartak, will be able to perform well in the RPL WORLD.

Earlier, Match TV reported that hearings in the Promes case in the UAE due to personal circumstances could take place as early as January.

— I wouldn’t be surprised if Spartak signs Promes. I know that he played in the UAE for a team. But you need to understand how active Quincy was in football this year. I won’t say that Promes is a Spartak legend like Cherenkov or Rodionov. However, this is a footballer who is loved. He will not interfere with Spartak, because he can play in several positions. Quincy, together with Barco, can make some noise in the RPL. But we have to watch how Stankovic sees them together. It will be interesting,” Belous told the Championship.

The Netherlands previously asked Dubai to extradite Promes in a drug case. The procedure is still ongoing. In the UAE, a case is also underway against Promes – he did not return from the Spartak training camp in Russia due to an accident in Dubai and, while awaiting a court decision, spent two months in prison, and then was released on bail without the opportunity to leave the country. Promes left Spartak as a free agent in the summer of 2024 and signed a contract with the United Dubai club, which plays in the second division of the UAE championship.

Promes played for Spartak from 2014 to 2018, and then returned to the team in February 2021. Together with the “red-whites” he won the championship, the Super Cup and the Russian Cup.
