Former Russian national team player Alexander Mostovoy said that Monaco midfielder Alexander Golovin plays more successfully in foreign championships than Alexey Miranchuk, despite the lack of trophies.

On Sunday, Monaco lost 0:1 to PSG in the French Super Cup match. Miranchuk won the Europa League with the Italian Atalanta in May 2024; in the final match with the German Bayer (3:0) he played on the bench. Miranchuk currently plays for Atlanta in MLS.

— Golovin plays more successfully in Europe than Miranchuk. The lack of trophies is nonsense. Nobody is looking at this. Golovin plays an important role in his club, constantly appears in the starting lineup if he is healthy. But Miranchuk didn’t have this. Of course, it’s great that Alexey managed to win the Europa League with Atalanta, but in the final Miranchuk was not on the field,” RB Sport quotes Mostovoy as saying.

This season, 28-year-old Golovin has played 20 matches for Monaco in all competitions, scoring two goals and making one assist.
