Elizaveta Khudaiberdieva, the Russian figure skating champion, in an interview with Match TV, said that she began to root for the Spartak football club relatively recently, and in hockey and basketball she was worried about CSKA, whose fan was her grandfather.

Under the leadership of the Act of Stankovich, Spartak took the fourth place in the world of RPL and could not reach the Fonbet Cup superfinals. In May, Spartak extended the contract with Serb until 2027.

– Elizabeth, are you a fan of Spartak?

– Now I will explain (smiles). In basketball and hockey, I am cheering for CSKA, and in football – for Spartak.

– A good set. How did it happen?

– I have been following our football for about six years. I really love this sport, when there is an opportunity, I go to the stadium, I look at the matches of the Italy championship, the Champions League. In Italy, I strongly root for Roma, Napoli, in general, series A is my love. And I somehow did not particularly follow the RPL. And somehow the representatives of Spartak contacted me and invited me to the game. And so it all somehow went. Plus, quite by accident, in absentia through social networks, I was familiar with some players of the “red -white”, now I know what kind of pleasant and cool guys they are. So fate itself brought me to the Spartak football club.

– But CSKA and Spartak are antagonists. Is there an internal contradiction that you are rooting for these clubs?

– If my grandfather knew that I was rooting for Spartak, he would be very unhappy, would take out an army buckle (laughs). Grandfather was always ill for CSKA, he is a honored coach of the USSR in chess, cooked the country’s national team. And always in our family there was only the central sports club of the army. But something went not according to plan with football.

People at Spartak do everything to popularize the club, invite fans and famous actors and athletes to events, and introduce football players. So my love for Spartak is not artificial. Recently, we all cried after the defeat from the Makhachkala Dynamo in the championship and from Rostov in the Russian Cup.

– How many such games were in the spring …

– And CSKA with Dynamo Derby lost. But when Spartak wins, these are some powerful emotions.

– Really cried after departure from the Russian Cup?

“It’s hard to break through my tears, but then I was insanely upset,” said Khudaiberdieva “Match TV”.
