Demenko supported Safonov’s decision to stay in PSG
Former Krasnodar football player Maxim Demenko called Paris Saint -Germain the best option to continue the career of goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.
Earlier, the L’Equipe publication reported that Safonov did not plan to voluntarily leave PSG and intends to fight for the place of the main goalkeeper of the team. Safonov has been playing for PSG since the summer of 2024. Last week, the composition of PSG was replenished by the French goalkeeper Luke Shevalier.
– The competition, definitely, will be no problems. Moreover, Matvey has been in the team for a year. Another thing is when there is no trust, it’s still difficult. I would like to have more game practice, and here they take another goalkeeper. But Matvey did the right thing, saying that he wants to compete with another goalkeeper for the place of the first issue. And as it will turn out further, time will tell. This is the best option for Safonov now. I am sure he can cope. This is a matter of trust, ”Demenko quotes“ Gazeta.ru ”.
Safonov, as part of PSG, became the champion of France, the owner of the country’s Cup and Super Cup, the winner of the Champions League and the UEFA Super Cup. For the team, the Russian spent 17 matches in all tournaments.
