Fabio Cannavaro appointed as head coach of the Uzbekistan national team
World football champion and Golden Ball winner Fabio Cannavaro has been appointed to the post of head coach of the Uzbekistan national team, the press service of the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) reports.
On Monday, UFA reported that the 52-year-old Italian arrived in Tashkent with the coaching staff. Cannavaro will be assisted in the Uzbekistan national team by Eugenio Albarella, Francesco Troise and Antonio Chimenti.
The Uzbekistan national team reached the final part of the 2026 World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the USA.
Cannavaro previously coached Dinamo Zagreb, Italian Udinese and Benevento, Saudi Al-Nasr, the Chinese national team and a number of Chinese teams.
