Football player Vladimir Pisarsky intends to appeal against the decision to extend the period of his disqualification to the appeal committee of the Russian Football Federation (RFU). This was reported by the player’s lawyer Anton Smirnov.
The ethics committee was announced Friday RFU decided to extend Pisarsky’s suspension period by four months. The decision was made on the basis that Pisarsky was betting on the outcome of football matches in one of the Russian bookmakers, being a topic of Russian football, prohibited by ethical rules. Before this, on July 3, the Ethics Committee RFU Pisarsky was banned for four years, three of which were suspended, after which Krylia Sovetov, for whom he played, terminated his contract on 16 July.
“We will appeal to the appeals committee RFUthen at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. First you need to request the full text, wait until you receive it and then appeal within three days,” Smirnov said.
The lawyer noted that an appeal would be filed since Pisarsky did not participate in the gambling. “He was given a free bet – this is a free bet, and making a free bet is not making a regular bet. A regular bet is a form of gambling, and to be considered gambling, it must be risk-based with a potential gain. You enter into a risk-based agreement with the gambling organizer, that is, you top up your balance with an interactive bet. This fee is a top-up electronics. People say that Vladimir made a bet, and we were accused of just that. A bet and a bet the interactive bet is a replenishment of the balance and not a bet. But he did not replenish the balance either with his own money or with a single ruble. There was a free bet as part of the promotion,” Smirnov explained.
“The result of the free bet is 420 units, and in order for this money to be considered a winning, it is necessary to top up the balance. This is established in the law, in the conditions of the bookmaker for the promotion of free bet, which is not based on risk. We have referred to all this legal framework and believe that there are no violations of Pisarsky. People simply do not read the laws and do not want to know the norms, concepts and terms of basic. This is simply persecution of a person, in fact they want that person to end his career. This is their revenge,” he added.
