The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match between Wales and Belgium was interrupted due to a rat running onto the field, reports RMC Sport.
The Group J meeting took place on Monday in Cardiff and ended with a score of 4:2 in favor of the guests. The rat ran onto the field in the 66th minute. The Belgian team goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois tried to catch her, but to no avail. As a result, the animal was chased off the field by Wales national team player Brennan Johnson.
Based on the results of six matches, the Belgium team scored 14 points and leads the group standings, the Wales team (10 points) is in third place.
