Zenit head coach Sergei Semak said that everyone on the team was worried and worried about Andrei Mostovoy, whom the attackers had previously tried to kidnap.
On Saturday, Zenit beat Lokomotiv at home (2:0) in the match of the 14th round of the WORLD RPL. Mostovoy scored a goal in the 90+1st minute and celebrated the goal by wearing a balaclava on his head, for which he received a yellow card.
Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, announced the detention of suspects in the kidnapping of a businessman and the attempted kidnapping of a famous football player. According to media reports, four young people tried to kidnap Mostovoy on October 23, and on October 25 they kidnapped the son-in-law of State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Makarov.
— It was a tough game, the score was minimal the whole game. In the first half we played well, in the second we got tired – and the movement became a little worse. At the same time, everyone worked out the moments to the end.
Lokomotiv’s quality is fast attacks, we managed that. There was more danger from flank passes to Komlichenko. We played well in defense and attack, congratulations to the team and fans. A difficult match, it was important to win.
— Why were the first substitutions made only in the 75th minute?
“Everyone played out to the end, there was little danger at our goal. It’s not easy to get into such a complex game. When it became difficult for the players to move, we refreshed them with substitutions. They looked normal both before and after the replacements, which is encouraging.
— How do you like Mostovoy’s performance? Have you discussed the situation?
— The situation was discussed, of course. What can I say, everyone was worried and worried about him. Some people could indulge in jokes, but the situation is absolutely serious. The main thing is that everything ended well and everyone is alive and well. He helps, scores important goals. I won’t scold him for the yellow card,” a Match TV correspondent reports Semak’s words.
Zenit scored 29 points and ranks second in the standings. In the next round, the St. Petersburg team will play away against Krylia Sovetov on November 9.
