The football community is conducting a working dialogue with the Minister of Sport RF Mikhail Degtyarev. The president of the Russian Premier League spoke about this in an interview on the forum “Russia is a sporting power” (RPL) Alexander Alaev.
“The fact that the minister received the president of the League, listened to the strategy, approved it, allowed us to present it at the “Russia is a sporting power” forum and was involved in the presentation while he was in Moscow, speaks of his involvement and attention to football, for which we thank him very much,” he said. — There is an ongoing dialogue, we as a football community will definitely solve all problems with him. Including a limit for foreign players.”
Previously, Degtyarev announced plans to tighten the limit by 2028 according to the “10 foreign players in the application, 5 on the field” scheme. Now the clubs RPL can include 13 foreign players in the application and release 8 foreign players on the pitch. In September, the Russian Football Federation said the current limit allowed young players’ playing time to be increased to 18% for the first time.
The forum “Russia – a sporting power” will take place in Samara and will end on November 7.
